WHAT YOU NEED

Your vanity address works with the Lightning Address you already have.

For the private beta, you need an existing Lightning Address from a compatible wallet or provider. That provider address remains the payment destination. LightStrike gives you the memorable vanity Lightning Address you share publicly.

LightStrike does not need your seed phrase, private keys, NWC connection secret, wallet backup, or permission to spend your funds. We only need the public Lightning Address where you want payments delivered.

Request your vanity Lightning Address

Choose the vanity name people will use, then tell us which existing Lightning Address should receive the payments. We'll verify the destination before accepting the request.

Use 3–32 letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores.
This is where your sats will go. LightStrike will test the address before accepting your request.
PORTABLE NAME

Keep your vanity name even if you change wallets.

If you move to another compatible Lightning wallet or provider, the vanity Lightning Address you have already shared does not have to change. During the beta, contact the LightStrike administrator to change the underlying destination. The new destination should be verified before the change is made.

HOW LIGHTSTRIKE WORKS

Non-custodial by design.

Does LightStrike hold my Bitcoin?

No. LightStrike maintains the routing information needed to connect your LightStrike name to the Lightning destination you choose. Payments are delivered through that destination; LightStrike does not keep a customer balance or custody your sats.

What information does the beta store?

The beta stores the information needed to operate your address, including your requested LightStrike name, destination Lightning Address, contact email, optional display name, and address status.

Is LightStrike anonymous or decentralized?

No. LightStrike operates a central name directory so it can map your public LightStrike name to your chosen destination and let that destination change later. We aim to collect only the information needed to operate the service.

What should I never give LightStrike?

Never provide a seed phrase, private key, wallet backup, or NWC connection secret. The beta only needs your public Lightning Address.
